8 Ways to Attract Abundance
If the concept of attracting abundance is new to you then a good place to start is by reading ‘The Secret’ by Rhonda Byrne. But as that will take a little while, the basic concept is that the universe is abundant and that we can attract some of that abundance into our lives by being open to what the universe has to give us AND by letting go of some of the mindsets and subconscious beliefs that block the flow of abundance into our lives.
The six steps below will help you to get started.
1. Look at Nature
If you are in any doubt that the universe is abundant, just look at nature. Trees laden with blossom or fruits, gushing waterfalls, rolling mountain ranges. It is both abundant and awe inspiring. Generally speaking, we have little to do with that abundance - nature manages it all on its own. So the first step to attracting abundance into your own life is believing that the universe is abundant.
2. Attraction is a Law
We don’t usually have much trouble accepting the law of gravity. Apples don’t fall downwards from trees only sometimes, they do it every time they fall because of the law of gravity. There is also a law of attraction which means that the universe will give us what we attract. How do we attract things? The answer is through our energy and ‘vibration’. All of life is energy and energy flows through our bodies constantly. Ever wondered why some people seem to have all the luck - usually it is because they are attracting that luck through their energy and thoughts.
3. Practice Gratitude
One way to start to get the right kind of energy is to focus on all the good that you have in your life already. Often we focus on what we do not have - it is a ‘lack’ mentality and is certainly not the one that will attract abundance. In fact, thoughts of what we don’t have will almost always attract more negativity or ‘lack’. So begin by being grateful, count your blessings; if you are in good health, be grateful; if you have a roof over your head and food to eat, be grateful. If you practice gratitude regularly, you will soon notice a shift in your energy.
4. Harness Your Thoughts
Almost everything we do, except perhaps for reflex reactions, begins with a thought. We decide to move a limb, pick up a glass, or say something by having the thought first. Even things like moving house, applying for a job, starting a business or going abroad on holiday begins with a thought. Thoughts are powerful and we can use thoughts to attract the things we need into our lives. But first we need to learn to control them.
It is not as easy as it sounds, we probably all know from those nights when we may have woken and been unable to get back to sleep because of a thousand, often irrational, worries. How often do we think about the negative things that might happen rather than the positive things that could happen? Or about what might go wrong rather than what might go right? So start using thoughts positively - think about what you would like to see in your own life and try concentrating on that instead.
5. Set an Intention
An intention is an explicit message to yourself and the universe that you want to see certain things happen. Be specific, and many people find it helps to write it down - some people use vision boards to add details to what they would like to attract into their life. This might be growing their business or moving to a larger house or even meeting a partner.
6. Get in Touch with the Emotion
Once you are clear about what you want to attract, get in touch with how that would make you feel. Imagine being free of debt for example, or having the job of your dreams, whatever it is you are wanting to attract. Think about how good you would feel if that was your reality. Experiencing the emotions alters your energy and makes it easier to attract the abundance you seek.
7. Use Visualisation
Whoever said daydreaming is a waste of time! Once you know what you want to attract and have set the intention and got in touch with the emotion, use visualisation to add detail. So, you want a bigger house, what would it look like, which street would it be in, how would you decorate it? Use the power of your imagination to visualise the future you want and bring it into being.
8. Take Action
Sometimes, the universe quite literally drops things into our laps but other times, we will have ideas about what we can do that can help these things come to fruition. That doesn’t mean we have to do it all; remember, abundance is all around BUT if you get an idea or an intuitive thought that it would be good to take a particular action, then don’t ignore it
it is probably just the universe giving you a helpful push in the right direction to attracting abundance and making your dreams a reality.
