3 Ways to Stop the Endless Cycle of Dieting

How many times have you lost the same 5, 10, 20 lbs or more, only to regain it back?  And the irony is, if you are like so many people who are on the weight loss roller-coaster, you probably know exactly what foods you should and shouldn’t be eating.

So, the question is: Why aren’t you motivated to eat the way you need to eat to produce the results you say you want?  If you’re honest with yourself, you will see that the answer is, because you think it will be too hard. I’m here to give you some great news—it doesn’t have to be!

Here are three steps I discovered to lose weight healthfully and keep it off, that have worked for thousands.

1. Make your decision

That’s right. Decide once and for all that you’re no longer going to continue to allow your life force energy to be consumed with this ridiculous time sucker.  Think about why living your life unhealthy and overweight, obsessed with diets, the scale and your reflection in the mirror, is no longer an option for you.

Make a list of the reasons why you are ready to finally start honoring and caring for yourself and doing what it takes to live your life healthy and at your ideal weight, permanently.

2. Stop the Excuses and start changing your Behaviors

Overcome Laziness

Yes, on the one hand you already know how to lose weight—so much so that you could probably write a book about it—but on the other hand since what you are doing isn’t working, it’s time to try something else.

In your gut, you know that the truth is that there is no gimmick that will make you skinny, in the long run. It’s not realistic to think that you’ll work out for two hours a day, or stop eating carbs completely.  For most people, counting calories and points or taking massive amounts of supplements doesn’t work in the long run either.

What does work is following these simple tips:

  • Plan ahead
  • Eat whole, real, clean unprocessed food from the earth
  • Keep your blood sugar steady by eating a balanced combination of healthy protein, delicious salads and vegetables, raw, steamed, grilled or sautéed, healthy fats like avocado and extra virgin olive oil, a small amount of nuts and seeds and some complex carbohydrates like oat meal, sweet potato and winter squash.
  • Avoid sugar in any form, including sugar substitutes and processed foods, filled with chemicals.
  • Eat only when you are physically hungry
  • Move your body!

3. Change Your Thinking

Face With Change in Your Life

It’s time to stop letting your small, reactive self run the show in this area of your life. Just because you think of a certain food, doesn’t mean you have to eat it!

In areas of your life where you are successful—such as in your relationships, career, parenting—do you blurt out every idea that comes into your mind, or act on every impulse?  Of course not, so why do so in this area of your life?

Let your higher mind guide you to your inner self where your greatest wisdom can lead you to success.  Let your body tell you and show you what it needs. Before you eat anything, ask yourself: How will this food make me feel?  Do I even really want it?  How will I feel after I eat it?

Use visualization and self-hypnosis to remind yourself of what you really want. Your mind thinks in pictures so see yourself healthy, happy and at your ideal weight.  Imagine yourself loving your reflection in the mirror, embracing your beauty, feeling romantic, happy, fully alive in your body!

The past doesn’t equal the future.  Stop letting an old negative self concept control your future. Choose a new destiny.  And most importantly stop struggling. You don’t need to white knuckle it.

It truly can be easy—the key is staying focused and getting into the right mindset. Cravings are just as much in the mind as they are in the body.

Alkalize your body with celery, lemons and organic apple cider vinegar to help eliminate any physical cravings for sweet, oily or salty food. At the same time, tap into the power of your mind to break free from those emotional attachments to food that just don’t serve you anymore.

Hold onto a new image of yourself healthy, happy and free.  Relax and claim your greater good—your highest destiny to live your life well and at your ideal weight!  You can do it!
