Ali Liebert is an actress and producer of Canadian origin. Ali was conferred the Canadian Screen Award for “Best Actress in a Dramatic Series” for the television series, Bomb Girls. A talented and versatile actress, Ali ventured into production with her production house Sociable Films. Ali was the host-cum-judge for the Gemini Awards 2010. She was epitomised on ET Canada, eTalk and Urban Rush. Ali as been extensively featured in prestigious publictions; TV Week, Playback Magazine, The Vancouver Province, National Post, Globe and Elle Canada. She was on the cover of the magazine, Reel West.
Childhood
Ali Liebert is born on August 20, 1981 in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. She was brought up in Vancouver island. Since a child, Ali was passionate about acting. She did her graduation in the Performing Arts’ Musical Theatre Program from Canadian College.
Early Career
Ali Liebert shifted to Vancouver to pursue a career in acting. Ali acted on the small screen, in the television series; Human Target, Fringe, The L Word and Hellcats. She appeared repeatedly in Kyle XY, Harpers Island, Killer Instinct and Intelligence.
Ali was the protgonist in the film, Year of the Carnivore in 2008. She acted in films; Afghaan Luke, Sisters and Brothers and A Gun to the Head. Ali featured in one of the Molson Canadian advertisements.
Heights
Ali's role in Bomb Girls, a miniseries on war gained her critical acclaim and recognition. She was shortlisted for the Leo Awards 2012 in the category, “Best Actress in a Dramatic Series”. Ali won the Canadian Screen Award 2015 and the Leo Awards 2013 for her acting prowess in Bomb Girls.
Ali ventured into production, co-founding the production house, Sociable Films in 2011 in Vancouver. She intends to nurture creativity and “make movies sociably”. Ali's first film as a producer was Afterparty, in wich she also starred. Ali featured in Foxfire, a film by Laurent Cantet, winner of the Palme D’Or. The premiere of the film was held at TIFF 2012.
Ali was the anchor-cum-judge at the Gemini Awards 2010. She was epitomised on ET Canada, eTalk and Urban Rush. Ali as been extensively featured in prestigious publictions; TV Week, Playback Magazine, The Vancouver Province, National Post, Globe and Elle Canada. She was on the cover of the magazine, Reel West. Ali was a celebrity guest and modelled at Heart Truth fashion show in Toronto.
Personal Life
Ali enjoys sudden vacations and her favourite getaway is the New York City. Her hobbies include photography and going to the movies with friends. She enjoys the musical theatre soundtracks of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Ali is presently involved in putting the finishing touches to her impression by Liza Minnelli.
Recognition
Ali bagged the Canadian Screen Award 2015 and the Leo Awards 2013 in the category of “Best Actress in a Dramatic Series” for the television series, Bomb Girls. She won the Reel Canadian Indie Award and the Ensemble Award for Afterparty in 2014.
