Synopsis
One of the most famous of young music bands today, R5 is a pop rock & rock band from America comprised of 5 members Ross, Riker, Rocky & Rydel Lynch & Ellington Ratliff. The band has garnered immense success through its meaningful albums and has received huge appreciation not only in America- but also among music lovers all across the world.
Foundation & Early Career
R5 is a famous initiative by 3 brothers Rocky, Riker, Ross Lynch & their sister Rydel who were joined by family friend Ratliff. Raised in Colorado, the Lynch siblings in have been into performing since a very young age and the entire family moved to LA in 2008.
Together the siblings created R5 with the joining of Ellington in 2009 in Los Angeles. In mid-2009, the band started their web YouTube series entitled as “R5 TV” that proved to be a fantastic marketing tactics for them. The series has received a whooping 4 million views till date.
Career
R5 released its first ever EP named “Ready Set Rock” in 2010. Their second and most famous EP is Loud which was released in the year 2013. It took them the entire later half of 2012 to create Loud and during this time, the band worked with two very illustrious producers like Evan Boggart & Emanuel Kiriakou. R5 has performed at various sets all through Southern California at various notable venues such as Orange County Fair, Knitting Factor, Six Flags Magic Mountain etc.
R5 had its first ever full-length album in 2013 September that was titled as “Louder”. The 3rd single from the album “(I Can’t) Forget About You” reached at #47 on the list of Billboard Digital Pop Songs.
The 3rd EP from the band was Heart Made Up on you that was released in the year 2014. R5 released its first ever single Smile in November 2014. In 2015 July, the band came up with its 2nd studio album named as “Sometime Last Night”. At present, R5 is busy with its Sometime Last Night Tour that will run till March 2016 and would cover the US & 17 countries like UK, Germany, Canada, Sweden etc.
Career Highlights
Loud, one of the most prominent of the EPs released by the band, charted in top three of iTunes chart just within a day of the release. Louder climbed to #2 on iTunes Chart on its release & even garnered the great status of Chart-Topper on iTunes “End of the Year Album” roster.
Awards & Achievements
Over the years, R5 has won Next Big Thing Awards in 2013, 2014 Radio Disney Awards in the categories of Best Band & Show Stopper.
