Finding Inner Strength - 3 Ways
Life can have many obstacles that we need to overcome. Sometimes there are such tough times that make us feel as if there is no light at the end of the tunnel. Even though those times seem very dark and are full of despair, they are the times that change us and make us stronger. They make you the person that you are meant to be.
It doesn't matter how tough a situation is. If your close family member or best friend dies, you lose your job or are going through a devastating breakup, there is always a place a peace waiting for you on the other side of that dark place. When you do cross that path, that is where the new you and your new life begins.
Finding inner strength when you are suffering from grief, depression or have had some trauma may seem very difficult. There are many ways to hide from the pain, or mask it which many people do. During these times one part of your brain may be telling you to give up and to stay in bed, or to have that last drink to take away the pain – atleast for that night. But there are other ways to calm your soul during those dark nights. When you find that inner light it can be unstoppable and it can save you from what you thought was the end of your happiness.
Your inner strength comes from inside of you. That famous quote, "You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think" that Christopher Robin says in Winnie the Pooh is very true for all of us. We have the power to heal ourselves from withing through our mind, body and spirit. These are some techniques that will help you in finding your inner strength.
1. Meditation
Motivate Yourself for Meditation
Meditation can be your strongest ally in difficult times. It is when you become centered and really learn about who you really are. That deep silence is very healing and it can lead you to places within that you have never experienced before. There are different types of meditation that can work for you. Experiment with different forms and find which one works the best for you. There is chanting, deep breathing, visualization and guided meditations out there that can help you become intune to your higher self.
2. Diaphragm Deep Breathing
A lot of our inner pain is stored in our stomach area called the "power house". It is also where the third chakra or "Manipura" is located. It is a source of personal power and governs self-esteem, warrior energy, and the power of transformation. When you are dealing with any horrible thing in your life you may get pains in this area. To release that pain, the diaphragm deep breathing technique can help a lot to release it. You start by taking deep breaths that reach down into your diaphragm area. You know this when you see your stomach rise and fall as you inhale and exhale. If you keep doing this eventually you will feel more relaxed and at ease and some of the pain will subside.
3. Visualization Exercises
Different visualization exercises help to take you into another state of your inner self and can guide you to different ways of feeling and thinking. There are many out there that you can find that can help you through your difficult time. One very good technique is to imagine your body being filled up by the most beautiful white light and feel it going through all of your limbs until you feel a inner warmth residing deep inside of your body. This will help heal your inner emotions and pain.
These are just a few ways in becoming intune to your higher self and finding your inner strength that you can do on your own at home. There are many other ways out there which you can research and go to a practitioner and try such as reiki, accupuncture, qigong and yoga among others. It is always best to find what works for you and what can help you the most in your difficult time.
