Lena Gercke is a German supermodel, who won the first season of “Germany’s Next Top Model”. She is a popular figure in the fashion world and is also the face of many advertising campaigns across brands. Lena has walked several runways across Europe and has also been a part of the New York Fashion Week 2010.
Childhood
Lena was born in Hessen in Germany on February 29, 1988. She went to the Liebfrauenschule Cloppenburg (ULF), where she completed her Abitur (Secondary School). Lena also loves playing chess as a hobby.
Early career
In 2004, Lena started working with Burger King. She struck instant fame when she became the first ever contestant to win “Germany’s next top model” and was mentored by the top model Heidi Klum as a part of the contest.
Career highlights
Post her success at the “Germany’s Next Top Model”, Lena landed a modeling contract with the IMG Models. She also appeared on the cover of the German version of The Cosmopolitan. Lena has also been a part of advertising campaigns ranging from Katjes to Audi and has adorned the covers of numerous magazines across Germany. From 2009 to 2012, she hosted the Austrian version of “Austria’s Got Talent”. Subsequently, she was a judge alongside Dieter Bohlen on the German show “Das Supertalent”. Lena is currently hosting the 5th season of “The Voice of Germany”. In 2015, she started her own show, “Prankenstein”, a show that involved pranks behind hid cameras.
Reputation
As a couple, Samir and Lena have appeared in a couple of sassy photo shoots together. In February 2012, a Tunisian publisher was arrested for printing intimate pictures of the couple. Later, in 2012, the model was told to tone down her dressing style at the EURO 2012 semi-final between Italy and Germany.

From 2006 to 2009, Lena was dating a singer named Jay Khan. She has also been in a relationship with ace footballer Samir Khadira. The power couple ended their 4- year relationship in 2015.
