Gisele Bündchen, a Brazilian fashion model, an actress-cum-producer. She is believed to be the highest paid model. Ambassador for the United Nations Environment Programme, Bündchen has been the model of Victoria’s Secret Angels from 2000 until 2007.
She was the pioneer of the horse walk movement for models on the ramp walk. Bündchen has acted in several movies including Taxi and The Devil Wears Prada. Bündchen also works with charities which include Save the Children and Doctors without Borders.
Childhood
Bündchen was born to Vânia Nonnenmacher and Valdir Bündchen on 20 July 1980 in Brazil. Her mother is instrumental in her success, as she motivated Gisele to undergo a modeling course.
Bundchen’s story of success saw the light of day when she was spotted by the Elite Modeling Agency, and immediately selected for a national contest. Bündchen came fourth in the Elite Model Look World contest held in Spain. She began her modeling career at the age of 14 and achieved her first break in the Fashion Week in New York City.
Career
For Gisele, it has not been a cake-walk. Prior to her debut in the modeling industry, Bündchen auditioned for 42 shows in 1997. She finally got a break for her ability to walk in soaring heels on a slick runway in rain, the ready-to-wear show.
In 1998, she became the face for well-known brands in the fashion industry, such as, Ralph Lauren, Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino and Versace. Bündchen hit the jackpot when she entered into a win-win agreement with Victoria Secret, where she wore the most expensive Victoria Secret’s Fantasy bra Red Hot Fantasy Bra.
In the year 2004, Gisele made her debut as an actress in the movie Taxi. She has also appeared in a supporting role in the movie The Devil wears Prada as Serena. Bündchen is the Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Environment Programme in 2009.

Bündchen was dating Rico Mansur in 1998, and a year later she was spotted with Rodrigo Santoro. Gisele was in a relationship with Leonardo DiCaprio for five long years, from 2000 to 2005. Finally, she tied the knot with Tom Brady in 2009.
The couple has two children, Benjamin and Vivian Lake. A socially conscious person, Bündchen has donated sizeable amount for AIDS research.
Achievements
Bündchen was titled the Vogue Model of the Year in 1999. She was nominated for the Teen Choice Awards for her movie Taxi.
Gisele was also named the most desirable female body on Annual Famed Hottest Looks Survey in the same year. She was positioned 60th on the Forbes list of The World’s Most Powerful Women in 2011.
