Nancy Pelosi was born on March 26, 1940 in Baltimore, Maryland, the U.S. She did her B.A. in Political Science from the Trinity Washington University and the Institute of Notre Dame.
Career Highlights
Nancy Pelosi embarked upon her political career in 1969. She became a member of the Democratic National Committee in California in 1976. She was selected as the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee’s (DSCC) Financial Chair in 1985. She was Chairman of Democratic National Committee. Pelosi was elected as the House Minority Whip in 2001. She was the first woman to hold the House Minority Whip in the US and the first woman Speaker of the House in California. As the Speaker, Pelosi focused on economical issues.
Pelosi was one of the founding members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.
Personal Life
Nancy Pelosi is married to Paul Frank Pelosi. They had met while Nancy was a student in Trinity College. They got married in 1963. The couple has five children.
