The 1 Thing You Need Today to Write your Own Success Story
Are you envious of how fantastic other people’s lives are or how lucky some of these successful people are and thought you could not possibly achieve those things because you don’t think you can do it?
If it is a resounding yes then you my friend, are not quite ready to get your own success story written until you get this one thing figured out. This one thing can be instantaneous or it can be something that you will need to work on consistently.Nope, it is not skills, luck nor money we are talking about today. It is belief; the belief that you, yes you, can achieve success in your life.
1. You don’t Know What You can Or cannot Do until You give it Your Best go
The fact is none of us are psychics and yes that includes you so none of us know what the future brings which includes whether we will succeed at something but we can make the decision today to do everything we can to design our future and not self-sabotage even before we try it out.
2. You cannot Be Perfect at Everything and That is Ok
Stephen Hawking is a genius in theoretical physics but he may not be the best relationship guru. Steve Jobs was extremely creative but he did not place high on his people skills. We are all great at something but we cannot be perfect in everything and you know what, it is ok.
3. You have the Power to Make Choices and Decisions about Your Life
You are the only one who can shape your life according to what you want, you are the only who can write your own success story. Don’t waste this power on holding yourself back, use it on telling yourself that you can do whatever it is you choose to do.
You can choose today to believe that you can do whatever it is on your mind and on your wish list. Just remember that you may not believe this all the time because you will have times when you are stuck and have no idea how to move forward. When this happens, remembering what is real and what isn’t will help you move forward.
4. You have enough Sources to Learn
Growing up, many of us were told as children, teenagers and young adults that we should stop living in the clouds, that we will never make that much money nor are we smart enough to build a business. If you came from a working class family, you might even have heard that lofty dreams and goals belong to the rich. Unfortunately, that kind of conditioning sticks with us, we grow up with the belief that we should just be content with what we have because we are not good enough to even dare wish for anything more.
5. You have to Work hard to be Successful
That belief then becomes a reality because when you’ve heard something often enough, you perceive that as the truth. It then becomes easier to default to this belief when you are faced with a challenge. How many times have you persuaded yourself you cannot do something even before giving it a go? The belief that you cannot do something is based on assumptions, not facts. Until you have done something to the best of your ability and know for a fact that you are not cut out for something, this belief is not real and you need to know what is real before you can change your belief. Norman Vincent Peale, a clergyman and early progenitor of positive thinking said
“Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy.”
Self-belief does not occur overnight but it does not have to be along drawn out process. It should not be bothersome nor difficult. You know who you are and you know what you are truly capable of. Don’t hold yourself back and start writing your personal success story today. Has your self-belief held you back from achieving things? How did you get over this obstacle? Many people that you and I know who are smart, maybe even brilliant in what they do for a living yet hesitate to create a business or to pursue their passions. You may very well be one of them. You are not lazy, nor are you not good enough and you know what kind of life you truly want. Your single flaw here is that you have let your own belief of not being good enough hold you back from amazing achievements.
Successful people who have built great businesses, achieved fantastic relationships or have made scientific breakthroughs did not make it just because they have put in the time and effort, nor are they fearless and nope, they are definitely not perfect. There is one thing, however, that sets many of this seemingly fearless individuals apart from the others; they believe in themselves and they believe in what they can do when they put their mind to it.
