Katrina came to India as a model. Under the talented lens of famous photographer Atul Kasbekar she tasted immense success and was soon flooded with offers from various brands.

Katrina barely blinked at having to move to a different culture and environment. She reportedly believes that it does not really matter from where you belong or come. What matters, is that you are valued and adored. She sought professional help to improve her Hindi to be able to fit easily into the film industry. This sensitive and emotional girl is very particular about her privacy and is especially uncomfortable discussing her love life in public.

Katrina’s modelling career started at age 14 when she was approached by a jeweller for a campaign. She was spotted by filmmaker Kaizad Gustad and in 2003 she debuted with international thriller Boom. The movie flopped disastrously.

But Katrina was a hit and offers poured in. Many believe that it could be due to the unwavering and constant support of actor Salman Khan, who she was dating at that time. The relationship is said to have helped her fight her way into the film industry as she was backed by a super star like Khan.

Her struggles were soon rewarded when almost every one of the movies she starred in earned colossal revenues. These soaring successes projected Katrina to the topmost spot in Bollywood.

Initially, Kaif was criticized for her poor acting. But now she is seen as a much improved actor. She has now planted her roots in Bollywood and is one of the highest remunerated female artistes in the industry.
