Childhood
Born on born 17 April 1974, to Jacqueline Doreen and Anthony William Adams, Victoria was brought up at Goffs Oak, Hertfordshire. Her father was an electronics engineer and mother, a clerk at an insurance agency and a hairdresser. Victoria has two siblings. The parents had established an electronics wholesale business.
Victoria studied at St. Mary's High School in Cheshunt. Her career in music began with the Jason Theatre School. In the year 1991, she enrolled in Laine Theatre Arts in Epsom, Surrey to study modelling and dance. She was also a member of the band, Persuasion.
Early Career
Victoria Caroline Beckham was the British brand ambassador for Dolce and Gabbana. She has fashioned the label, VB Rocks for Rock & Republic. Victoria took on the role of fashion editor, for Harper Bazaar’s March 2006 edition.
Scaling new heights, Victoria started her own fashion line in denims, Dyb. Her label Dyb was introduced in New York in the year 2007. She coupled this with launching her range of eye-wear.There was no looking back, and her perfumes and cosmetics brand, ‘V-Sculpt’ were subsequently launched. Victoria was selected as the face of Marc Jacobs Spring collection, 2008.
Heights
The year 2008 saw Victoria’s eponymous brand reach the markets. In just three years, it had created its own place in the New York fashion week. Victoria bagged the ‘Designer Brand of the Year’ at the British Fashion Awards in 2011. Success smiled on Victoria, as she fast gained fame and popularity.
Victoria has also experimented with Pop music. She was a member of the pop group, Spice Girls. Her first solo album, “Out of Your Mind” was released in the year 2000. She entered into a contract with Virgin Records. Her two singles, “A Mind of its Own” and “Not such an Innocent Girl” was among the top 10 on the UK chart. In the reunion tour of the Spice Girls, Victoria was the only singer not to sing a solo song.
Victoria has also ventured into television, and made five documentaries. She has featured in a reality show as well. Victoria has tried her hand at writing and successfully so. Her first book, “Learning to Fly” won the third best selling non-fiction title, 2001. Her second book, “That Extra Half an Inch: Hair, Heels and Everything in Between”, also did well.
Personal Life
Victoria was involved with Corey Haim for some time, but separated ways. She first met David Beckham at a charity football match. They tied the knot on July 4th, 1999. The couple is blessed with four children, Brooklyn Joseph, Romeo James, Cruz David and Harper Seven.
Recognitions
Victoria’s fashion brand has earned the reputation of being a successful business venture. She was rumoured to be the 52nd richest woman in Britain in the year 2007.
Victoria was nominated for the Do Something With Style Award, in recognition of her social work with “Save the Children”. She is closely associated with PETA and a benefactor of the Elton John AIDS Foundation. BBC Radio 4, in the year 2013 placed her among the 100 most powerful women in the world of fashion in UK.
