Childhood
Sarah was born on February 11, 1964 at Sandpoint, Idaho United States to Sally and Charles R Chuck Heath. Palin has three siblings. When she was only a few months old, her family shifted to Alaska and finally settled at Wasilla.
Palin was involved in extra-curricular activities while in school. In her senior year, she was the co-captain of her basketball team, which bagged the Alaska State Championship. Also, she won the Miss Wasilla pageant. Palin stood third in the Miss Alaska beauty pageant. Palin graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Communication from the University of Idaho.
Early Career
Palin began her career as a sports-caster for KTUU-TV and later as a sports reporter for the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman. In 1992, she was elected to the Wasilla City Council with a victory of 530 votes to 310. She was chosen to be the Mayor of Wasilla for two consecutive terms from 1996 to 2002. She was elected as the President of the Alaska Conference of Mayors in 1999.
Highlights
In 2006, Palin won the Republican gubernatorial primary and took-over the office of the Governor of Alaska. She was the first female Governor of Alaska and served from 2006-09. She wrote her memoir ‘Going Rogue: An American Life’ in November 2009, which became a best-seller. Its sales exceeded 300,000 on the very first day. Palin went on to become the political commentator on Fox news from 2010 to 2015. She successfully launched the Sarah Palin Channel, an online news network in 2015.
Palin stood for the vice-presidential elections in the 2008 U.S elections but lost. In June 2008, she was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award by the Alumni Association of North Idaho College.

As a political activist, she formed Sarah PAC in 2009, a political action committee, which advocates independence and supports candidates contesting for federal or state office.
Personal Life
Sarah is married to her high school sweetheart Todd Palin. He owns a fishing business. The couple has five children.
