Career
Lopez got her biggest break as a back dancer in Janet Jackson's ‘That's The Way Love Goes’ video in 1993. Then followed a leading role in the film ' Selena ' in 1997. The role got her the desired appreciation and a Golden Globe nomination for Best actress.
She became the first Latina actress to earn over $1 million for a role the following year, in the film Out of Sight. She debuted in music industry in 1999. Lopez always had an inclination towards music and every step of hers was criticized by many. But the huge success of her album sealed every mouth and came as a surprise to critics. Its launch made the "popular actor even more popular ". Everybody seemed to take interest in this woman who had so many different talents.
By the end of 1999, Lopez converted herself into a popstar from a filmstar. J.Lo became the first artist to top the Billboard Hot 100 with a debut single since Britney Spears.Lopez is known as the most influential Hispanic performer in United States, and ranked among the highest paid Latin entertainers in the country.
