Akshata Murthy proudly says that since she is from a family which is no short of social workers she feels delighted to fund this social innovation program.

    This lovely couple has two children. His son Rohan Murthy has a PhD in Computer Science from Harvard University and at present is an executive assistant to his father at Infosys. This decision was taken by Mr. Narayana Murthy to make himself more effective by seeking assistance from his own son. As a father, he was deeply impressed by the role played by his son in Catamaran Ventures which made the company grow significantly.

    He is married to Sudha Murthy, who has authored many books in English as well as Kannada. She holds a bachelor degree in electrical engineering and Master degree in Computer Science. She got a gold medal in both these subjects. She is a well known social worker and philanthropist. She has established a number of orphanages and went ahead of others to introduce computer science in all the schools throughout the state. She has also provided library facilities for schools which lacked this facility.
