Federation of Russia is known as the largest country in the world and, therefore, there are no true means of classifying it. The country is bestowed with such amount of vastness that it’s hard to classify Russia as there are different time zones, races along with languages. Many expats have migrated to Russia ever since it saw the dislocation of Soviet Union in the year 1991. It had closed its borders entirely to the west and totally operated as a communist state.
Because of the political history of the country, Russia has been misunderstood by the expats and the ones who have moved to the country have marveled at the sheer wonder not because of its size, but the wonders of the place. The population of Russia is estimated to be around 141 million and it is the home of close to 160 ethnic groups.
Some of the famous people the country has produced various personalities in the field of sports, politics, science and literature. It includes tennis star Anna Kournikova, Leo Tolstoy and President Vladimir Putin.
Anna Kournikova is a professional tennis player and one of the most admired sports person worldwide. Despite not winning a single title, her highest career singles ranking was 8 in the year 2000. She was a successful doubles player and her pairing with Martina Hingis was a famous one.
The official language of Russia is Russian though there are other dialects present. Though English is spoken by a majority of people in Moscow, the expats are strongly advised to have a basic understanding of Russian before they think of migrating to this place. There are major airports in Russia though the road system is not that great as it has a bad record of accidents. The railway line stretches across the length and the breadth of the country, and it is fast and efficient means of transport.
