Childhood

Simon Helberg was born on December 9, 1980 in Los Angeles, California in the USA. His father, Sandy Helberg is an actor and his mother, Harriet Helberg is a casting director.  He discovered his love for acting as a teenager and went to study in the Tisch School of Arts, New York University. He underwent training at the Atlantic Theater Company.

Early Career

Simon started his acting career with small projects. He did guest roles on television shows in 1999. 

Heights

Simon's career experienced success in the 2000s. He appeared as a geeky student in 2002 feature film, Van Wilder. Simon acted in films; A Cinderella Story starring Hillary Duff and Chad Michael Murray in 2004, Good Night and Good Luck and Arrested Development in 2005. In 2006, he did commercials for Virgin Money, a UK based financial company. In 2007, Simon got a major break when he was cast as 'Howard Wolowitz' in CBS comedy series, “The Big Bang Theory”. In the year 2013 and 2014, Simon was paid $100,000 per episode of Big Bang Theory.

Simon featured in MADtv, a sketch comedy and in the web miniseries Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog.

Personal Life

Simon Helberg is married to actress Jocelyn Towne. The couple has two children.
