Sam Worthington is an English born Australian Actor, born on 2nd August, 1976. He is famous for his role as Jake Sully in Avatar and many other famous films like Clash of the Titans, Wrath of the Titans, Terminator Salvation, etc. 

Sam received the Australia’s highest film award for his work in Somersault. He did a number of leading roles in low budget films. His films ranged from romantic and drama to thriller and action genres. Sam studied dramatic arts at John Curtin College of the Arts. After his college, he did some odd jobs and settled in Sydney, New South Wales.

Initially, Sam did not have any intention of becoming an actor, but some say that he followed someone to an audition. And the impulsive decision about him proved successful for him. He got his first professional role in Judas Kiss, directed by Neil ArmField. His onscreen debut was an Australian Television show, Water Rats. He also appeared in a number of TV shows.

Sam won the Best Lead Actor Award by AFI for his amazing role of a sexually confused young man in Somersault. He is also known popularly for his role in Australian TV series Love My Way. He was selected for one of the entrants to the Who’s Who in Australia edition of 2011. He has also worked in some of the commercials as well for the video games. He was into relationships with some of his co-stars, but broken up very soon.

In 2005, Sam returned to the American movies with a role in The Great Raid. It was a World War 2 drama. The next year proved to be a lucrative year for him as he took the title role in Macbeth. His reputation as a promising actor got him the attention of many popular and high-profile directors. This is the reason for his role in the biggest production till date, Avatar by James Cameron in the year 2009. Avatar is an action drama that integrated various CGI techniques with 3D technology. He shared the screen with very famous faces like Michelle Rodriguez, Sigourney Weaver, etc.

Cameron was impressed with Sam’s work and introduced him to McG for an amazing role in Terminator Salvation. Sam was cast as a modified man in Salvation. His high profile roles continued for next few years as he acted in films like Last Night and The Debt. Sam established himself as one of the most talented actors in the film industry. He got his first Teen Choice Award nomination for a Fresh Face Male in Salvation. He also won the GQ Man of the Year award in Australia.

2010 was a busy year for Sam. Clash of the Titans was a big box office hit and the sequel of this film was completed by the end of 2011. Sam was later back in Australia for the movie, Drift.

Sam Worthington is one of all-time favorite stars in the recent times. The path to success in life can be sudden and unexpected at times.
