Hollywood not only comprises of stars from an artistic background, instead, dedicated and aspiring ones have won millions of hearts like Taylor Kinney, American actor & model. He struggled through his life and worked continuously on his skills to achieve his Hollywood dreams.
Born to a banker father, Daniel Kinney and a dental hygienist, Pamela Heisler, Taylor grew under the influence of his mother in Neffsville, Pennsylvania after the divorce of his parents. He joined the course of Business Management from West Virginia University, wherein he developed an interest in acting during his junior year.
Taylor gave up his university course and went to Hawaii, where he joined the job of a carpenter to meet his daily needs. Alongside he started struggling to get a break into his dream career, which included his performance in theatre titles, ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’ and ‘Fallout’.
Taylor started his acting career by playing the role of ‘Luke Gianni’ in Fashion House, a short-lived American TV series aired at MyNetworkTV in 2006, opposite actors Morgan Fairchild and Bo Derek. The debut series worked very well for the actor and got him his first break to kick start his acting career with the movie White Air in 2007, starring Tom Sizemore and Dominique Swain.
However, soon after his debut, Taylor faced a disappointment, when NBC’s medical drama, Trauma (2009-2010), cancelled after its first season only. It could have been a great platform for the actor, as he was playing a lead role in the same along with other budding actors.
However, he continued with his struggle and landed another chance to bounce back to the big screen with ‘The Vampire Diaries’, wherein he played the recurring role of Mason Lockwood. This show created a long-lasting recognition for Taylor as Mr Mason, which is till now considered to be one of his most admired performances.
Although the journey with the TVD series was a success for Taylor, he hadn’t been able to establish himself as a prominent candidate for a lead role. So, he continued investing more efforts in improvising his skills and industry presence with available works and finally earned a starring appearance in Chicago Fire (2012). The same year saw Kinney’s appearance on the big screen in Zero Dark Thirty, an acclaimed war drama.
So, Taylor was now on the rise and then he met his future partner, the pop star Lady Gaga on the sets of You and I. During the shoot, both the artists started dating and the news added raised his fame and connections in the industry. Presently, Kinney’s role as Lieutenant Kelly Severide has been the most renowned performances by him.
