In 2013, Mr. Mittal sought the permission from the center at a meeting with Ram Vilas Paswan- the steel minister for steel for setting up two steel plants in Odisha and Jharkhand. He also said that it would be almost impossible for him to set up plants here if he does not get assistance from the center in the form of raw materials supply and infrastructure support for his units in these two states.
The capacity of these two plants would be 24 MT which is double the estimated capacity.Later this year on 3rd January 2016 he has signed an MOU with States and Mines Minister Mr. Narendra Singh Tomar for a project with an estimated value of Rs. 5000- Crores for a Joint venture between the companies Arcelor Mittal and the state- owned SAIL.
As a veteran, he gives a steer for young entrepreneurs to be bold and make strong decisions which would help them to be out in the front. According to him, nobody is born with this quality. One has to believe in himself if he has to taste success.
