Sachin Bansal, aged 32 is an Indian Internet entrepreneur and Software engineer and co-founder and Chairman of India's biggest e-commerce platform Flipkart. Orginally he is from Chandigarh- the capital city of Haryana and Punjab and graduated from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. Binny Bansal, his business partner, who also happens to be his childhood friend, is also from the same place.
Although the duo shares the same surname, but they aren’t related. After completing his graduation, Sachin Bansal served Techspan Company for a few months. He joined Amazon.com India in 2006 as Senior Software Engineer. Later he got his business partner Binny Bansal into the Amazon.com. After a few months, they both decided to leave their job.
Initially, they thought of developing a comparison search engine, but then they realized that the Indian E-commerce market needs expansion. Hence, in 2007 they founded an e-commerce company- Flipkart after leaving Amazon.
